Funeral & Relocation Expenses for the Epp family

Andrew Gabriel Epp was a gentle, beautiful soul. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, horticulture and animals. Unfortunately, Andrew also struggled with mental health issues and, after a lifelong battle, took his own life in the early morning on May 18, 2019. He was 36 years old.

May is Mental Health Awareness month. The night before he passed, Andrew’s family were begging local facilities to admit him. They were turned away and told, because he wasn’t vocalizing he wanted to hurt himself, the earliest he could even see a doctor was August 2019. The thing is, often those considering suicide don’t vocalize their plans. They can be turned away in the moments help is most needed.

Veterinary bill for Ollie

Please help with the medical bills for dog seen being dragged behind a truck Friday morning (5/3), with a rope around his neck, in Spring Hill, FL. He is at the vet and in good hands. So far we know he has no broken bones, and he is about 3 years old. They are monitoring for internal bleeding. Very sweet temperament. Anything helps, if you cannot donate please share so we can raise awareness, and find the monster that did this!

"YES, it’s real!," park officials wrote on a Facebook post. "Those gorilla gals are always acting cheeky so this was the perfect shot of their true personalities! Also, it’s no surprise to see these girls on their two feet either—most primates are comfortable walking upright (bipedalism) for short bursts of time."

Chronicling the End Times on Tangier Island

Once, this Virginia island was known mainly for its crab harvest and its people’s distinctive speech. These days, magazines and newspapers send reporters to Tangier because the island is predicted to be subsumed by the effects of global warming. You might get a "snapshot" of Tangier with a couple of days' reporting, but to know it truly, you’d have to follow the example of Earl Swift, whose book “Chesapeake Requiem” takes a long look at life on this beautiful, vanishing island in Chesapeake Bay.

Why the College-Admissions Scandal Is So Absurd

Don't completely agree it is absurd but a good read.  What is absurd is how the wealthy are handed educations.

For the parents charged in a new FBI investigation, crime was a cheaper and simpler way to get their kids into elite schools than the typical advantages wealthy applicants receive.

No one understands and no one ever will understand.  I am trying to accomplish to give my family at the very least I’m praying to cover funeral costs with this.

RICHMOND ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL

We need your help. Last night (2/10/19) at 7:30pm a male brindle pit bull with a camo collar was tied to a pole in Abner Clay Park off the 200th Block of W Clay Street covered in accelerant and intentionally set on fire. Witnesses saw a adult male suspect wearing multiple layers of pants run from the scene towards Belvidere Street. If you have information about this crime call Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or submit your tip through the 3PTips. ANY information, anything you saw, anyone you suspect, if you have ever seen this dog, please call or message it in - no information is insignificant. We want to find the person responsible for this heinous crime. We named the dog Tommie and he is currently being treated for burns to over 40% of his body at Virginia Veterinary Centers. We are all hoping that we might be able to save him. Please consider making a donation to our RACC Foundation towards the cost of his vet care - it will be a long and expensive road to recovery for this sweet dog. Link in bio. I have to say that we don't get rattled by much at RACC and have witnessed ugly cases but this one makes us want to just sit on the floor and cry. Thank you to our partners at City of Richmond, VA Fire Department and Richmond Police Department for your incredible help and quick response to this call. Please help us save Tommie and find the person responsible for this evil, senseless act of violence. #weareyourcityshelter

Jeremy McKellon

Jeremy McKellon, known as Remy to those who knew him in his military service and as a barber in the Richmond, Virginia area, attended Virginia Commonwealth University studying in the School of Business in pursuit of his MBA.  Sadly, Jeremy was shot and critically injured on 01/02/2019 as he was returning home from an event. According to the paramedics, his life was saved by the 911 call of strangers who came to his aid after some time had passed.

Jeremy's entire life changed in this unfortunate instant. Jeremy is a very attentive son and uncle who truly enjoyed spending time with his family. Due to an act of violence, currently Jeremy cannot move anything below his neck.

Thank you for your help in providing whatever assistance you can to meet the insurmountable cost of his extensive care.
