RICHMOND ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL

We need your help. Last night (2/10/19) at 7:30pm a male brindle pit bull with a camo collar was tied to a pole in Abner Clay Park off the 200th Block of W Clay Street covered in accelerant and intentionally set on fire. Witnesses saw a adult male suspect wearing multiple layers of pants run from the scene towards Belvidere Street. If you have information about this crime call Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or submit your tip through the 3PTips. ANY information, anything you saw, anyone you suspect, if you have ever seen this dog, please call or message it in - no information is insignificant. We want to find the person responsible for this heinous crime. We named the dog Tommie and he is currently being treated for burns to over 40% of his body at Virginia Veterinary Centers. We are all hoping that we might be able to save him. Please consider making a donation to our RACC Foundation towards the cost of his vet care - it will be a long and expensive road to recovery for this sweet dog. Link in bio. I have to say that we don't get rattled by much at RACC and have witnessed ugly cases but this one makes us want to just sit on the floor and cry. Thank you to our partners at City of Richmond, VA Fire Department and Richmond Police Department for your incredible help and quick response to this call. Please help us save Tommie and find the person responsible for this evil, senseless act of violence. #weareyourcityshelter
